Andy has been making and repairing in a shed at the bottom of the garden since 2008. His often quirky projects have been exhibited, featured in magazines and even won him a trip to New York.
After some basic metal and woodwork at school, he then learnt machining, CAD and drawing with the aerospace company Dowty. He has been soldering circuit boards since small and learnt gas brazing during a short course at Stroud College in the 1990s. He used both of these techniques when creating the “flea chariot” which was later exhibited at Porter & Jenkinson‘s Curious Pursuits at the Portico Library and Gallery in Manchester
Andy completed an artist welding course at Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2009 where he learnt MIG welding and created a metal sculpture. Shortly after he bought a TIG welder and has been practising on little projects ever since.
Though 2017 he wrote the book "A Little Saw" whilst commuting across London after being inspired by Andy Leeks' "As they slept".

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
